Teaching Philosophy:
  • I want to give my students a framework of knowledge that they can sift through in order to find what works for them personally. In class I give students a variety of ways to accomplish something and then give them projects in order to try these methods. At the end of class I hope that they can take this "bag of tricks" and find what has worked best for them and then be able to apply it to what they are doing, ultimately creating their own philosophy and way of working. I want my students to see me as a guide, someone who has explored and found her own way and is now sharing that knowledge and helping them find their way. I am not a dictator, nor someone who has supreme knowledge. I am simply someone who has been doing this a little longer and has studied a little more extensively and is now passing on that knowledge as I myself continue to grow and learn.
